watched a french drama heartbeats about 3 friends. love to see something new which french do come up with often. color scheme beautiful. the whole film is shot without any masters even ext shots in telephoto. noticed frequent slow motion shots with regular audio track, often with dalida’s cover of the cher’s “bang bang”...wow.. but i’ve seen it before...in the mood for love!! i did love the tone of the film by Wong Kar-wai even though the story didn’t hit the note fully. wasn’t exploited all the way in my view but the images he created with that sound track were unforgettable. imitation is the best form of flattery!
it’s still a pretty good, watchable film..written, starred, directed and edited by a 22 yr old french canadian xavier dolan. love the laid back, slow paced scenes without dialogue as if it was left rolling without any direction were not boring but pleasantly intriguing.
